BET Founder Just Gave A Stern Warning To The Direction Of The Democratic Party

Well, at least some who are not from conservative circles are staying that the Democratic Party has gone off the hinges. Okay—maybe those weren’t the words used, but too far to the left is certainly a criticism that was lobbed by Black Entertainment Television co-founder Robert Johnson. Johnson spoke with CNBC’s Hadley Gamble on Tuesday noting that the Democrats have become too left wing and that moving towards the center is the only way the 2020 nominee can beat the president. The latter should happen sooner than later (via Free Beacon):

"The party, in my opinion, has moved for me, personally, too far to the left, and for that reason I don’t have a candidate in the party at this time," Johnson said when asked about Democratic presidential primary so far.

Johnson has previously described himself as a centrist who has consistently supported Democratic politicians including former secretary of state Hillary Clinton during her presidential campaign against Trump.

"I think at the end of the day, if a Democrat is going to beat Trump that person, he or she, is going to have to move to the center and you can’t wait too long to do that because the message of some of the programs that the Democrats are pushing are not resonating with the majority of the American people," he added.

Yeah, good points—but the ship has sailed. The Democrats are now a full-blown far left party. And the ascending progressives who are taking over have long argued that centrist positions are losing ones and that if Hillary Clinton had been more Marxist, she probably would’ve won. Not true. The party debated whether they were out of touch, whether they need to win back white working-class voters etc. and apparently they’ve decided to say ‘screw that’ and double down in trying to carry a presidential race based on urban population centers. And with that, catering to and pandering to the most left-wing, elitist, condescending and insane slice of the electorate, which thankfully, is small. There is no middle way allowed here. You must live, think, and act as they do. If you disagree, you’re a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, neo-Confederate, privileged Nazi. That’s the ethos of the progressive Left: authoritarianism. If Mr. Johnson missed the past debates, the Democrats want to give health care to illegals, confiscate guns, boost taxes to 70 percent, and push for open borders. They hate cops. And they want abortion to be taxpayer-funded and permitted virtually up to the point of birth. This party has become, in a word, evil. There is no moderation here, sir. The Democrats should just call themselves Neo-Marxist.
