GOP Senator To Ocasio-Cortez On Border Crisis Claims: The Voices In Your Head Are Not Real

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is a twister. She’s loud, destructive, and forms during intense storms of political theater. When she touches down, the damage can be devastating. She’s been on a roll trying to make fascist America into a real-life thing. It’s not. She compared the detention centers at our southern border to Nazi concentration camps. Now, she says that Border Patrol agents were threatening to her, but most egregiously allegedly told detained illegals to drink from toilets during a tour of some of these facilities this week. That didn’t happen.  Please—this allegation was suspect from the get-go. First, there are sinks attached to the top of the toilets at these facilities. And yet, no one has really challenged her on it. Yes, some reporters asked her if she actually saw people drinking from toilets; she didn’t answer that question. A group of Hispanic pastors took a tour and found that the conditions were not as advertised by Democrats. One Republican Senator, John Kennedy of Louisiana, has been quite blunt and straight forward over the allegations AOC has lobbed at the Border Patrol: the voices in your head are not real (via The Hill):

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) took aim at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday over her remarks comparing the Trump administration's migrant detention centers to concentration camps.

In an interview, Kennedy accused Ocasio-Cortez of voting against funding for humanitarian aid efforts at the border, a vote the New York congresswoman made because the funding was being coupled with further resources for the expansion of detention facilities to accommodate more migrants.

"Let me be frank. Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez — someone needs to tell her that the voices in her head are not real," Kennedy said Tuesday during an interview with local news station KSLA News 12. "She says that the men and women of our Border Patrol and our authorities are intentionally running concentration camps on the southern border."

"The Department of Homeland Security is out of money, and the congresswoman knows that. She says the conditions are inhumane. But yet when we send a bill over to her to vote to improve those conditions, she voted no. Her hypocrisy is breathtaking," Kennedy added, calling the situation "a problem that Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has helped create."

Oh, talk about a smack down, but AOC lives for this. And she’s doubled down on some of these claims, like the concentration camp one, despite being dragged by Holocaust Memorial groups for being totally wrong on this matter. Yes, The Department of Homeland Security said they were running out of money. And the liberal media also said that this was a manufactured crisis. It’s not. Now, that we have the detention facilities filled to capacity, the Left is lusting to use the deteriorating conditions inside to attack the Trump White House, despite Department of Homeland Security warning weeks ago that they were running out of money to handle this crisis. The drinking out of toilets claim is also nuts, as Rush Limbaugh noted—someone needs to aggressively push back on this crap (via RCP):

So she went to tour a Border Patrol facility in El Paso. I believe this was needed to help restore whatever credibility she thinks that she has left. It looks like she, once again, tried to pull off a hoax, screaming at federal officials, making wild claims about illegals being told to drink toilet water. It looks like a stunt. So now she needs a story to make her look like a heroine — a hero. Some people might misunderstand “heroine.” I’m not saying she wants to look like a syringe. That’s for you to decide. I’m saying she wants to be a hero, like a person who knows what she’s talking about. She wants that kind of gravitas and respect, that she cares.

But she is looking ridiculous. She has looked particularly ridiculous this past week. I think she’s trying to create a situation to make herself look good, make the federal employees look bad, and somebody needs to call her on it. DOJ needs to call her on it. ICE, Border Patrol need to call her on it. There need to be hearings held on these kinds of baseless charges. They need to be refuted, blown to smithereens. Put her and everybody else under oath, because everybody involved here is denying that they’re making anybody drink out of toilets and whatever is in the toilets!

The open border agenda is tied to Democratic Party strength. These sorts of attacks will continue and they will become gradually more insane. All the more reason to vote for Trump in 2020.
