Right now, we have a near Chernobyl-level style blow up over tanks and armored vehicles being part of the Fourth of July festivities this week. President Trump ordered it. It was a great decision. And the fact that the Left is triggered by this means that he should have ordered more tanks for the event. Tanks have been present for victory parades before. The optics is fine. No one cares about that. Americans are patriotic and they like seeing tanks. The only people who have problems with all of this are the Democratic Party and their allies in the media because Trump has taken over the event. He can do that. He should do that. And the Left just needs to shut their face over this.

If a Democrat took over this event and put tanks on display, there would be no criticism. After the Democratic debates, I don’t want to hear lectures from Democrats about patriotism. They care more about illegal aliens than citizens. That was made explicitly clear.
This is profoundly disturbing. https://t.co/vIw5fWRNVG

The resemblance to days before Tiananmen Square is chilling. https://t.co/cFJJZzL4F7

Tanks on the mall. Concentration camps. Man, it’s like FDR is president all over again.

Not at all the first time. We had several for the Desert Storm victory parade. pic.twitter.com/5c42E2lXtK

#Kennedy was not against featuring some armored firepower either. These are some tracked-mounted missiles - including the Pershing, the Nike Hercules and the Nike Zeus - at JFK’s 1961 inaugural parade. #tankfest2019 #Tank #ParadeGate pic.twitter.com/fJNVtjOgD0

And now, we have the endless hot takes, like how the presence of tanks is like…Tiananmen Square. Or how the event is more akin to what we see in banana republics. Yeah, that was The Washington Post’s editorial board’s view on this whole non-issue:
Recommended
It was bad enough that Mr. Trump sought to make the holiday about himself with plans to deliver a nationally televised address from the Lincoln Memorial, thus eliminating what many consider the hands-down best spot in Washington for fellowship and fireworks on the Fourth of July. But Mr. Trump now plans to cordon off an area in front of the memorial reserved just for dignitaries, family and friends. Nothing about reserved seating says “We the people.”
Equally, if not more troubling, is his insistence on a display of military might that will include a flyover of warplanes and the stationing of tanks or other armored military vehicles on the streets of the capital. What this will cost the Defense Department and the National Parks Service is anyone’s guess. (Officials have refused comment.) But the question of expense pales in comparison with the message that will be sent by a gaudy display of military hardware that is more in keeping with a banana republic than the world’s oldest democracy
Well, for starters, Obama always made everything about himself. He campaigned endlessly without being criticized. We’re not a banana republic. We’re not the oldest democracy. We’re also not a democracy, but a representative republic. And it’s a tank. Get over it. What do these morons think is going to happen? A coup? This is why no one trusts the media. It’s overreactions to this, among many other things they do poorly. They’ve shown they cannot cover this White House properly and this was a guaranteed move that would trigger the Left. Again, elections have consequences. We won. You lost. This isn’t Tiananmen either. Just shut up, watch the tanks, the fireworks, and enjoy the Fourth, liberal media if you can, you horrible excuses for human beings.
I couldn't care less if this event has become politicized. We all need to get used to the fact that everything will be politicized sooner or later. The Left is just mad they couldn't get their dirty hands on this event first.
