Kill The Probe: CNN Poll Finds Two-Thirds Of Americans Want The Mueller Russia Investigation To End

Well, here’s some good news emanating from CNN: most Americans want the Mueller probe to end before the midterms. That also includes a majority of Democrats. For over a year, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who was appointed special counsel to oversee the Department of Justice’s collusion investigation, has been trying to find solid evidence that the Trump team and the Kremlin worked together to tilt the 2016 election. So far, there is zero evidence to suggest collusion occurred, but Democratic hysteria over the subject that taken its place. Trump won. Hillary lost. That’s the end of the story. And the Left’s overreach on this matter has been nothing short of embarrassing, with Democrats making absurd comparisons—like saying the attempted Russian interference (not hacking) was akin to Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 terror attacks. Yeah, thousands didn’t die from the 2016 election—and to make that suggesting because your side lost should earn you pervasive ridicule. Voters have had enough. No one cares about Russia outside of Washington D.C. and the newsrooms of the liberal media.  Everyone has moved on—which is exactly what CNN’s poll found:

Two-thirds of Americans, including majorities across party lines, would like to see special counsel Robert Mueller try to finish the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election before voters go to the polls to elect a new Congress this November.

Democrats are more apt than Republicans to think Mueller shouldn't aim to wrap it up before the elections (34% of Democrats say so vs. 24% of independents and 23% of Republicans), but majorities across parties say he ought to try to complete the investigation before voters head to the polls (72% of Republicans, 57% of Democrats and 69% of independents).

Is foreign interference in an election, which we have done numerous times in the Cold War era and the recent Israeli election, mind you, serious? Yes, who wouldn’t think it’s a serious issue, and we should prevent further intrusions, but vote counts weren’t altered. It was mostly a social media campaign loaded with trolls and shoddy Facebook ads, the costs of which were in the low six-figures. If you think that $100,000 in ads can wipe away American institutions, you’re insane. No, you’re insane anda sore loser. Even The Washington Postsaid it’s virtually impossibleto hack our election system. If there were solid evidence of collusion, we would have found out about it. If there were an infamous pee tape, we would have seen it by now. This collusion circus has been going on for over a year. The investigation's approval ratings have sunk due to people seeing that this is a wild goose chase. We’ve found nothing. It’s time to shut it down.
