Houston Flood Survivor Rips CNN: People Are Suffering; Why The F**k Are You Interviewing Us!?

UPDATE: CNN’s media correspondent Brian Stelter says this interview was a human, not a political, moment and that the woman interviewed agreed to come on when asked off-camera. She still whacked them in the face though.

CNN stepped on a rake with their Houston hurricane coverage, interviewing a mother who wasn’t having any of the network’s behavior concerning interviewing survivors at a shelter. The news network decided to set up shop in an evacuation center, interviewing those who have been picked up by rescuers from the rising waters. For this woman and her family, it was simply too much. It was unseemly. Did CNN really need to know what was wrong with these folks? Well, she let them have it [Warning: some strong language]:

“We walked through four feet of water to go get them food [sic] on the first day. Yeah, that’s a lot of s**t. But y’all sit here—y’all trying to interview people during their worst times, like that’s not the smartest thing to do; like people are really breaking down and y’all sitting here with cameras and microphones trying to ask us what the f**k is wrong with us. And you’re really trying to understand with the microphone still in my face. With me shivering cold, with my kids wet, and you’re still putting a microphone in my face!”

CNN’s Rosa Flores, who was conducting the interview, apologized to the woman, who was now crying, saying “sorry,” but this lady was not having any of it. So far, Hurricane Harvey has dumped at least 11 trillion gallons of water in the Houston-area. Fifteen people have died as a result of the storm. Today, it was announced that a police officer tragically drowned in a flooded underpass. President Trump went to Texas today, landing earlier this morning to meet with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. So, while the news networks, looking at you MSNBC, were complaining about President Trump just visiting the disaster-stricken area, perhaps you can save yourself further embarrassment by not pulling a CNN while you're in the city.
