RNC Chair: The Left Needs To Accept They Got Beat And Clinton Won’t Be President

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus spoke with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos (who is also a former Clinton operative) this morning, which inevitably led to a discussion about the anti-Trump protests last night, some of which devolved into rioting. Priebus aptly noted that it was the Left who accused Trump of not being willing to accept the results of the election. Now that Clinton has been beat, they’re lighting stuff on fire and vandalizing buildings (via The Hill):

“I’m not sure why some of these things are going on,” Priebus told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday when asked about anti-Trump protests popping up across the country.

“It was the Democrats who accused Donald Trump of not being willing to accept the outcome of the election. Now he won fairly overwhelmingly ... but it’s the other side that doesn’t want to accept the fact that they lost the election.”

As Katie noted, even Clinton didn’t accept the results of the 2000 election. Regardless, it’s worth remembering that these protests/riots are occurring in the most liberal parts of the country, where most of these folks either dismissed or straight up forgot that there are a millions of white working class voters who dot the Rust Belt, which is where Trump won decisively. Also, in 2012, when Republicans lost, we didn’t call for violence, we didn’t burn stuff, and we weren’t acting like babies. We regrouped and retook Congress in 2014 and won back the White House in 2016. We also maintained or expanded our majorities in legislatures across the board (federal and state). We’re now the dominant political force in the country.
