A few thoughts: In noting that Bush has brought on too many squishy Texas loyalists who turned on him, I reference Matthew Dowd and Mark McKinnon. These two were notable because, like McKinnon, they are moderate Republicans ... at best (I would actually say liberals). It should be noted that McKinnon did not turn on Bush. However, he did resign from the McCain campaign because he isn't willing to oppose Barack Obama. Advertisement But McClellan wasn't just squishy, he was also incompetent.
