McCain on Romney, Rudy & More ...

I'm on a blogger conference call right now with Sen. John McCain.  McCain started off the call by commenting on the recent GOP debate ...

... On Mitt Romney's

comment about consulting lawyers before going after Iran's nuclear facility, McCain said of Romney: "That's just a product of inexperience ..."

... On Rudy Giuliani's claim that the Line Item veto was unconstitutional, McCain adds that the way the specific bill was written in the 90s made it unconstitutional -- but that the concept of a Line Item Veto is not unconstitutional.

He went on to say: "... but we know how to write it so that it's constitutional."

On the issue of the Armenian genocide, he said: "I don't think there's any doubt there was genocide."  He went on to add that our relationship with the Turks is very important, and that he would like to see an acknowledgement -- and maybe an apology.

But he added that it wasn't this particular Turkish government that caused this ...

He also added that he wished people were as concerned about what is happening in Burma right now.
