Politico's Jonathan Martin reported yesterday that the McCain campaign purchased www.mittvsfact.com to launch in the immediate future.

Not so, says one of my contacts in the McCain camp. This was merely one of dozens of URLs the campaign has purchased over the last several months, with no plans to launch these websites any time soon.

As someone who has worked on political campaigns, it does not strike me as odd for a campaign to purchase as many campaign-related URL's as possible.

Update:  I just noticed that Jonathan Martin's post also points out that the McCain team did attack Mitt Romney's abortion stance on Mitt vs. Fact letterhead.  While this does not mean that McCain was planning on launching a website, it is clear that the McCain camp is attacking Romney's positions, in an effort to portray him as a "flip-flopper" ...
