The Case for Fred Thompson

In the past, I've pointed out why Fred Thompson may not be the conservative savior that many bandwagon-jumpers think he is.

But one good thing about him is that nobody hates him.

Think of it this way: In a general election, we can expect the following:

... (Fair or not) a certain number of conservatives will stay home, rather than vote for Romney, because of his religion.

... A certain number of conservatives won't vote for Rudy because he's pro-Abortion.

... A certain number of conservatives won't vote for McCain because of Campaign Finance Reform, amnesty, etc.

But if Fred Thompson is the nominee, I can't think of any reason why a Romney, Rudy, or McCain supporter would stay home, rather than vote for him ...

That may not be the most inspiring reason to support a candidate, but being everyone's second choice worked for Lincoln ...
