Edwards Campaign Still On, Despite Wife's Illness (Update: Elizabeth's Cancer Back, Incurable But Treatable)

That's what the annoucement is expected to be, at noon.

Very sad news. My prayers and thoughts are with their family. I'm no fan of their politics, but I wish them strength and a full, quick recovery for Elizabeth.

The campaign will not shut down all the way, reportedly, but be put on hold until the Edwardses figure out the extent of Elizabeth's breast cancer recurrence.

Update: Elizabeth's cancer is back, in the area of her ribcage, and is now incurable, but highly treatable, according to Edwards. Due to the relatively small size of the tumor, and the absence of cancer elsewhere, Edwards said, "there are many people who have lived many years" in Elizabeth's condition.

They are not suspending the campaign.
