Interrogatory

The President signed the detainee interrogation bill today. Bush had this to say:

"It is a rare occasion when a President can sign a bill he knows will save American lives. I have that privilege this morning. The Military Commissions Act of 2006 is one of the most important pieces of legislation in the War on Terror. … And now, in memory of the victims of September the 11th, it is my honor to sign the Military Commissions Act of 2006 into law."

First up for interrogation?

The Conservative Voice has some lefty reactions.

Much more on the ACLU line from John Stephenson.

Bryan says the law is a rallying cry for Republicans:

The Democrats would not have passed the law that the president signed today. They would have sided with the ACLU, forcing a kid gloves approach to interrogations and granting captured enemy war criminal combatants full constitutional rights.

The Republicans may not have given us many reasons to want them to win, but the Democrats’ default policies and general worldview remain a reason to hope that they lose.

KSM: Remember who we're talking about interrogating.
