Vote for 'Manhunt'

An acquaintance of mine is up for a huge, huge book award, and you can help him win.

James Swanson's "Manhunt" is an intricate, well-researched retelling of John Wilkes Booth's 12-day run from the law after he put a bullet through Abraham Lincoln's head. It reads like a novel. Turns out real life was quite the page-turner.

It is one of my favorite books of the last couple years, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

His book is up for the Quill Awards "Book of the Year" in the History/Current Events/Politics section against Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." The award is a public choice award, given based on votes.

So, if you're inclined to see a conservative's well-written, well-researched, fantastic book beat the tar out of Gore's screed, go vote for "Manhunt."

And read, read, read "Manhunt" as soon as you get a chance. You'll love it.

(Weird note: It's actually nominated twice-- once as an audio book and once in the History section-- so make sure you vote for it in the History section, where it's up against Gore.)
