What? We've Always Loved Hockey, Y'all.

Down in Raleigh, rednecks revel in the 'Canes' Stanley Cup victory. North Carolinians are new to the sport, but in all seriousness, there are a lot of dedicated hockey fans in the Triangle (many of them transplanted from more hockey-centric areas of the country, but the natives are learning, too).

Midwestern and Northern hockey fans will undoubtedly hate on the 'Canes fans and Stormy the Ice Hog (Yeah, you read that right. An Ice Hog.), but you know what they say about not hating the playa...

I confess to being a very bad sports fan and paying only peripheral attention to this year's Stanley Cup, but congrats to the 'Canes all the same. Is the Stanley Cup one of those things you need to keep refrigerated through a Carolina summer so it doesn't go bad?

Here's the SI story on the celebration. (Are those SI links subscription only? Let me know if you have trouble getting them.)
