My friend Lorie is celebrating a milestone today. Well, she's not sure she should be celebrating, but after meeting her, her husband, and her beautiful, smart little girls, I can tell you Lorie has lived well and accomplished plenty. Go ahead and celebrate, Lorie!

It's my birthday, too. Lorie is actually the first person I've ever met with my same birthday. Booker T. Washington and Gregory Peck are also April 5 birthdays, but I never got the chance to meet either of them.
She's voting for Chris on "American Idol," but I think we'll be able to maintain our friendship since we're both rooting for all the North Carolinians.
