Here's Why This Actress Is Receiving Backlash From the Left

The left loves to unearth comments made by high-profile individuals in an attempt to “cancel” them. One example of this is comedian Kevin Hart.

In 2018, Hart came under fire after a series of tweets he shared a decade prior that were deemed “homophobic.” This included a joke about having a gay son.

“Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay,’” one of the old tweets said.

As a result, Hart stepped down from hosting the Academy Awards due to the outcry about the tweets.

This week, left-wing activists turned on actress Blake Lively over comments she made about transgender people.

The remarks in question were made 12 years ago.

In 2012, during an interview with Elle magazine, Lively said made the following statement about children:

“I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they’d better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”

An X user posted a photo of the quote.

In 2009, Lively reportedly used the term in an interview with Allure.

According to E News, Lively said, “I feel like a tranny a lot of the time.”

“I don’t know, I’m...large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man. I’ve got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I’m surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes,” she reportedly said.

In an interview with Nylon in 2009, Lively reportedly said, “If you read the gossip magazines, everybody is dating everyone, everybody hates everyone, everybody has had like tons of plastic surgery and they're actually men and trannies. It's just like: you don't listen to the rumors.”

Predictably, left-wing activists blew up at these remarks, which occurred at least 12 years ago. Some defended her, stating that the term was “thrown around” during that time (via Daily Mail):

One user replied: 'I get what she was trying to say because someone better appreciate all that Vintage Versace she has. But she could have used different wording.'

Another wrote: 'You just blew up the whole smear campaign with this one.'

A third said: 'Not Lady Deadpool...'

A separate Reddit threat posted one day ago accused Lively of dropping a 'transphobic slur' in a video clip which has since been deleted.

In the responses, a commenter wrote: 'That's awful!

Lively is 36 years old and has three daughters and one son. From 2007-2012, she starred in “Gossip Girl.” Additionally, she has starred in many movies, including “A Simple Favor,” “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and “The Age of Adaline.”

Lively’s latest film, “It Ends With Us,” was released this month. Since then, reports have indicated that she’s been involved in a feud on the set of the new movie with her co-star and director Justin Baldoni. To top it off, an old clip of Lively being unkind to an interviewer in 2016 started making the rounds on social media. Now, the transgender comments appear to be the latest attempt to “cancel” her.
