Like Clockwork, We're Beginning to See a Familiar Pledge From the Left If Trump Wins

While we’re a year out from Election Day, and a lot could change between now and then, recent swing state surveys by The New York Times and Emerson College still have Democrats panicking. Former President Donald Trump is not only faring better than they would have hoped given the left’s attempts to destroy him, he’s actually ahead of President Joe Biden in most of them. Sure, Trump hasn’t technically become the Republican presidential nominee, but given how far ahead he is of his closest rival, it looks all but certain, barring any other unforeseen (legal?) circumstances. So it'll likely be Trump v. Biden once again, and the chances of the 45th president winning are unsettling to the liberals.

Like clockwork, many are now making a familiar pledge.

Cher, who in 2016 said she’d “leave the planet” if Trump were elected, vowed to only leave America this time around.

Speaking to England’s Guardian, Cher, 77, said she is horrified by the possibility that Trump, also 77, could potentially move back into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. if he wins re-election next year in a rematch with President Joe Biden. “I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she said of Trump’s tumultuous four-year term, which concluded with the deadly Jan. 6, 2021 assault on the U.S. Capitol by Trump’s followers.

“If he get in, who knows?” Cher said. “This time I will leave [the country].” (Billboard)

Barbara Streisand would also look to greener pastures in England if Trump wins.

Barbra Streisand is once again making it clear that she won't tolerate another Donald Trump presidency. The actor, singer and vocal Democrat appeared on Monday’s episode of “The Late Show” to voice her sentiments and ongoing disapproval of the former president.

“I can’t live in this country if he becomes president,” Streisand told host Stephen Colbert. She added that if she had to choose somewhere to relocate to, she’d probably move to England because “I like England.”  (Salon)

The celebs are not alone. Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen also joined the chorus.

During a recent interview with Good Morning Britain's North America correspondent Noel Phillips, which was released on YouTube on Tuesday, Cohen was asked how he felt about the possibility of Trump being voted into a second term in the White House next year.

That's a real problem," he said. "It's not only a problem for me, for journalists, for judges, for anyone that unfortunately Donald has ire towards, this could be a real problem not only again for us, but for American democracy and the future of this country."

"What would you do?" asked Phillips. "I'd leave the country," Cohen responded, adding that he fears for his safety and his life. "He [Trump] would exact revenge on anyone that has done him wrong," he said. "There's a lot of people on that list, it's not just me." (Newsweek)

None of these people are likely to follow through, of course. We're just seeing another temper tantrum from the left.
