Trump, Pelosi Accuse Each Other of Having Meltdowns, Request Prayers For One Another

President Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s relationship has cratered to a point where many wonder if they’ll ever be able to work with one another again.

After storming out of a meeting with Trump about Syria, Democratic leadership spoke to reporters, accusing the president of belittling the speaker and having a “meltdown.” 

“He called her a third rate politician, and he said that there are communists involved,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said. “This was not a dialogue. It was sort of a diatribe, a nasty diatribe.”

Later, Pelosi said she prays “for the president all the time, and I tell him that—I pray for his safety and that of his family. Now, we have to pray for his health—because this was a very serious meltdown on the part of the president.”

In tweeting out a series of photos from the meeting, Trump also accused Pelosi of having a "meltdown."

He then questioned whether something was wrong with Pelosi mentally and asked for prayers for her. 

"Nancy Pelosi needs help fast! There is either something wrong with her “upstairs,” or she just plain doesn’t like our great Country. She had a total meltdown in the White House today. It was very sad to watch. Pray for her, she is a very sick person!" Trump tweeted.

Pelosi's political account later changed its profile photo to her standing up to Trump.

Schumer claimed Pelosi "kept her cool completely" and White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said the same was true of Trump.
