The investigations into Russian attempts to influence the U.S.’s 2016 presidential election have not resulted in a smoking gun as many on the Left had hoped. Even Democrats have admitted that since there’s been no hard evidence of collusion, the whole issue has now become a distraction.
But in the event something significant ends up being revealed on the Russian interference front, Hillary Clinton isn’t ruling out challenging the legitimacy of the election.
“No, I wouldn't rule it out,” she said in an interview with NPR.
She was unsure about she would go about doing that, however.
“I don't know if there's any legal, constitutional way to do that,” Clinton added. “I think you can raise questions.”
In her recently released book “What Happened” about the 2016 election, Russian President Vladimir Putin was just one of the many people Clinton blamed for her loss to Donald Trump.
“I never imagined that he would have the audacity to launch a massive covert attack against our own democracy,” she argued, “right under our noses – and that he'd get away with it.”
Special counsel Robert Mueller is currently investigating Russian influence in the election and whether any of Trump’s associates colluded with the Kremlin.
“[Trump] knew they were trying to do whatever they could to discredit me with emails, so there's obviously a trail there,” Clinton said. “I don't know that in our system we have any means of doing that, but I just wanted to add to the point you made. There's no doubt they influenced the election: We now know more about how they did that.”

She also said that if she had won and discovered a foreign country had tried to influence the election she would have reacted differently than Trump did.
“Let me just put it this way, if I had lost the popular vote but won the electoral college and in my first day as president the intelligence community came to me and said, ‘The Russians influenced the election,’ I would've never stood for it,” she said. “Even though it might've advantaged me, I would've said, ‘We've got to get to the bottom of this.’”
