Poll: Majority Think Trump Is Simply Following Through on His Campaign Promises

President Trump’s ambitious agenda thus far may have come as a shock to the media and Washington elite, but the majority of Americans believe he’s simply doing exactly what he promised he would on the campaign trail.

According to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, 56 percent of registered voters say Trump is keeping his campaign promises, and 66 percent say he has accomplished that which was expected of him—or more. Additionally, 50 percent of voters approve of the job he’s doing. Forty-five percent, however, disapprove.

"While Americans are divided on President Trump's policy agenda, most say he is making headway on it," said Morning Consult's Co-Founder and Chief Research Officer Kyle Dropp. "An overwhelming majority of Trump's supporters, and even many of his critics, see a president who is delivering on his promises."

The poll of 2,000 registered voters was carried out Feb. 24 through Feb. 26. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
