Don Lemon Doubles Down on Suggestion Trump Committed Treason

Don Lemon is relentless in his suggestion that President Trump is acting treasonously.

Tuesday, Townhall reported that Don Lemon called into question whether we can even call Trump President anymore, and even went so far as to suggest Treason.

Tuesday evening during his primetime show on CNN, Lemon continued to double down on his earlier suggestions.  Lemon even went so far as to quote the Constitution on his show, Article III, Section III which addresses treason, according to NewsBusters.

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted,” Article III, Section 3, U.S.  Constitution.

“No President has every been charged with treason Douglas, do you believe the President’s actions fall anywhere within that definition?,” Lemon questioned CNN’s Presidential Historian Douglas Brinkley.

Brinkley began his response by referencing Vice President Aaron Burr in 1807 who was charged with treason. “The problem with the enemy…is that Russia is not officially right now considered an enemy of the United States,” said Brinkley.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

“Donald Trump has the slippery slope of legal language in his favor… But the spirit of what Trump did is clearly treasonous. It's a betrayal of the United States. He threw our U.S. intelligence services, flushed them away and it came off as being a puppet of Putin…But it's all going to come down in the end to what the Mueller investigation unearths. But certainly, people are going to say there's the taint of treason around this White House,” Brinkley told Lemon.

Brinkley went on to explain that even if President Trump were charged with treason, it would probably not stick due to technicalities and legal language.
