As the Senate gets ready to vote on a resolution rebuking President Trump's declaration of a national emergency, the White House has released a series of videos from Customs and Border Protection proving the crisis at the border is ongoing and must be addressed.

A number of Republicans, including Senator Mitt Romney, will vote against President Trumps' declaration Thursday afternoon. While they've spent time drafting the resolution to rebuke the declaration, they've failed to come up with any kind of legislation to stop the flow of illegal immigration into the United States.
In February, 78,000 illegal aliens were apprehended at the border. That number is enough to fill a stadium and only counts individuals who were caught.
While Washington is opposed to the declaration, a number of Republican state attorneys general are supporting the President.
President Donald Trump’s emergency declaration is a proper use of executive power to protect our country’s borders and keep Americans safe. Unfortunately, the crisis at the southern border is one that only the federal government may truly solve. With no solutions coming from Congress, the president is faithfully executing the duties of his office by invoking a law Congress already passed: the National Emergencies Act (NEA).
In declaring a state of emergency pursuant to the NEA, President Trump is using pre-existing statutory authority to address a legitimate crisis created by lawless conduct at and beyond our southern border. This emergency declaration is not a case of the president relieving himself of restrictions under the law. To the contrary, our president is protecting our country’s borders through means contemplated by Congress and used many times by past presidents for matters less directly threatening than those present on the southern border.
A vote for today’s resolution by Republican Senators is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, Crime, and the Open Border Democrats!
