While faculty members may exercise freedom of speech, we expect that their classrooms and interaction with students be free of bias and geared toward thoughtful, respectful dialogue.”

A Georgetown University professor is under fire for tweeting death threats against Republican Senators supporting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Campus Reform first reported the story:
Georgetown University Distinguished Associate Professor Christine Fair tweeted that white Republican senators in the Brett Kavanaugh hearing deserve to die.
“Look at thus [sic] chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist's arrogated entitlement,” Fair tweeted on Thursday. Referencing a video of "Lindsey Graham's tirade," Fair, who is a victim of sexual assault, added, “all of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps."
"Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes," she concluded the tweet.
As of Monday afternoon on October 1, the tweet is still up:

Since Kavanaugh's nomination in July and after unfounded allegations of sexual assault were lobbed against him in the 11th hour, a number of Republican Senators have received serious and vicious threats to their offices.
For example, here's a list of threats received Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley:
-“I hope you get raped so you can understand what that woman is going through.”
-“You’re a disgusting excuse for a human being, and I don’t know how you can live with yourself. I hope you never have children because they’ll be just as worthless as you are.”
-“You’re racist trash.”
-“Senator Grassley doesn’t have a spine and neither do you bitch.”
-“I just wanted to call and tell you that you are a piece of shit and Senator Grassley is a fucking piece of shit and he can’t die from a heart attack soon enough.”
-“I feel really sorry for women like you – outside of your office you’re probably disturbed by this but apparently you have a job to do.”
Georgetown has not responded to requests for comment on Fair's threats.
