BREAKING: Michael Flynn to Plead Guilty For Making False Statements to the FBI

Former White House National Security advisor Michael Flynn will plead guilty to charges of making false statements to FBI agents after months of investigation by Special Counsel Bob Mueller. He is charged with one count of violating Title 18, United State Code, Section 1001(a)(2).

According to the charging documents, false statements were made about Flynn's conversations with the Russian ambassador during the transition. Flynn also lied to Vice President Mike Pence about these conversations, which is why he was fired.

Flynn "did willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations in a matter within the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the Government of the United States," the document states.

He will enter the plea today at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington DC federal court house.

Flynn's guilty plea comes just over a month after former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort turned himself into federal authorities after being charged on a number of counts by Mueller, including lying to federal agents and failing to register as a foreign agent.

This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates.
