Greg Abbott Responds to Vicious Liberal Attacks About His Disability

In case you missed it yesterday, staffers from the progressive group Battleground Texas working to get State Senator Wendy Davis into the governor's mansion were caught on video by Project Veritas openly mocking her Republican opponent, Attorney General Greg Abbott, for being in a wheelchair.

"I really wonder how this is going to work out since he's in a wheelchair since and most of the slogans are 'Stand with Wendy," one staffer is seen saying in the video.

"First of all he's not good looking, he doesn't speak very well, he doesn't have a good personality and he's in a wheelchair," another woman is heard saying as someone laughs loudly in the background.

The undercover video shows Davis visiting the Battleground Texas offices where she thanked staffers for their help and refers to the group as "the secret weapon" to winning.

Last night Abbott made an appearance on Fox News' The Kelly File to address the attacks saying, "Denigrating the disabled is unworthy of Texas."

Attorney General Abbott has been in a wheel chair since he was 26-years-old after a tree fell on him while running and paralyzed him from the waist down.

Late last night Davis issued a statement condemning the statements after saying earlier this week that Abbott hasn't "walked a day in her shoes."

"The language used in this video about Greg Abbott is abhorrent. Greg Abbott has persevered through great personal challenge to raise a family, have a productive career, and for that he deserves our respect," Davis said.

As usual, staffers caught on video mocking Abbott's disability are accusing Project Veritas of taking things out of context. James O'Keefe, founder and president of the undercover investigative group, has said the comments were released with full context.
