We're now 21 days into the disaster known as trying to sign up for Obamacare and calls for Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to testify before Congress about major system failures and the outrageous $200 million price tag for the exchange website [healthcare.gov] are growing louder. Last week, Sebelius declined an official invitation from the House Energy and Commerce Committee to testify about the mounting problems with the website and getting people enrolled as required by law before January 1 when a fine will be issued to individuals without health insurance. Sebelius made time in recent weeks to discuss Obamacare on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and plans to attend a gala in Boston the night before she was asked to testify.
On Fox News Sunday, Democrat and Obamacare supporter Dick Durbin said Sebelius will eventually testify about ongoing exchange problems and Republican Senator Marco Rubio said Sebelius has "undermined her credibility" by refusing to testify.
President Obama has said he has "full faith and confidence" in Sebelius, while Senator Ted Cruz has called for her resignation.
