Romney Receives Endorsement From Largest Newspaper in Arizona

"Romney Right for These Times." That's the view of the Arizona Republic editorial board on the 2012 GOP primary race. The Arizona Republic is the Grand Canyon State's largest newspaper. The endorsement cites Romney as the best prepared to beat President Obama and the candidate with the best record on job creation.

For the task at hand, as defined by Republicans themselves, the real-world achievements of Mitt Romney far surpass those of virtually all the lifelong politicians against whom he is competing.

Romney's strong Mormon support in places like Mesa and his strong debate performance Tuesday, combined with his stance on illegal immigration and border security, surely helped secure the endorsement. Romney is also leading in Arizona polls, beating out rival Rick Santorum by double digits.
