Big Government Provokes Protests

Big Government Provokes Protests
Currently, thousands of UK students are rioting in London because their tuition is going up. I say riot instead of protest in this case because the students have broken glass, been sent to the hospital with injuries, have set things on fire and climbed on the roof of the Conservative Party headquarters.

This situation is a perfect example of how big government only results in protests and riots, simply because big government can only sustain itself for a short period of time.

The British government promised to keep tuition low, paid for on the public dime because after all, there if no free lunch. Now, the government is broke and cuts are being made in order to avoid further economic disaster, provoking students who have become accustomed to living on the public dime, to break windows and light fires. And who is behind the riots? The National Student Union!!

"The problem with Socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money"
-Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of UK 1979-1990
On the flip side, big government in the United States has provoked peaceful protests from tea partiers, demanding the government stop spending in order to avoid an even bigger fiscal disaster.

"A government big enough to supply everything you need, is big enough to take everything you have"
                 -Thomas Jefferson

Moral of the story: Big government is bad for everyone
