For the First Time Ever, Russian Bombers, Escorted by Su-35s, Fly Near Alaska

Russian President Vladimir Putin increased tensions between the United States and Russia on Thursday, flying two nuclear capable Tu-95 bombers and two Su-35 "Flanker" fighter jets off the coast of Alaska, according to Fox News.

The U.S. Air Force says it's the first time they've seen Russian bombers escorted by Russian fighter jets enter Alaska's Air Defense Zone.

The Russian aircraft were quickly intercepted by U.S. F-22 stealth fighter jets that were already flying in the area.

In April, the same Russian bombers intentionally flew off the coast of Alaska's coast for four days straight.

However, on Tuesday, President Donald Trump and Putin had a "good" conversation regarding ways to end the violence in Syria and de-escalate the situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
