A total of five people, including the alleged assailant, were killed in the terror attack on Wednesday just outside the British Parliament according to Fox News. Dozens more were critically injured after an unidentified man drove a car over bystanders on the Westminster Bridge and then proceed to stab a British police officer to death.
British Prime Minister Theresa May called the act "sick and depraved." She said it was "no accident" the attacker chose Parliament, which represents Western values.
"The terrorist chose to strike at the heart of our capital city, where people of all nationalities, religions and cultures come together to celebrate the values of liberty, democracy and freedom of speech," she said.
A group of young French high school students were also among the injured.
Keith Palmer, the 15-year-veteran of the British police was unarmed during the attack that took his life.
