F-16 Fighter Jet Crashes in Afghanistan

According to the Pentagon, an F-16 Falcon has crashed just outside Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.

Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook says the pilot safely ejected and is being evaluated by medical personnel. The crash happened just after takeoff and the pilot is part of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing.

How ironic that earlier today it was reported we have spent and donated over $1 billion in Afghanistan since 2010, and the cost of an F-16 is around $20 million.
