Pete Rose Remains Banned from Baseball

Pete Rose's life-time ban from baseball was upheld by Commissioner Rob Manfred today.

"Mr. Rose's public and private comments, including his initial admission in 2004, provide me with little confidence that he has a mature understanding of his wrongful conduct, that he has accepted full responsibility for it, or that he understands the damage he has caused," Manfred said in his decision.

Pete Rose was banned from baseball in 1989 for betting on games that he participated in.  Rose admits that he did bet on games, but never against the Reds, the team that he spent the majority time with.

Pete Rose is the all-time leader in:

Hits (4,256)

Games Played (3,562)

Singles (3,215)

Rose is known to have played the game in one speed, full speed. He once said, "I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to play baseball."

Baseball has completely expelled Rose from any affiliation with the sport. Meanwhile, players like Alex Rodriguez who have been caught in numerous PED scandals, still consume the league.

Whether you agree with the life-time ban from baseball or not, would you pay to see Pete Rose play the game today?
