80-Year-Old Woman Fined $100 for Throwing Newspaper in Trash Can

Delia Gluckin is a senior citizen in New York City, and threw a newspaper in a city trash can that was marked "litter only." That won her a shakedown by the NYC sanitation police.

NY Post:
"I was never in trouble with anybody," she said. "I'm on a fixed income; I would have to sacrifice to pay the fine. And if I don't pay in 10 days, they up it to $300."
The "outraged octogenarian" said the sanitation cop in question "acted as if I had a committed a crime."
