In 1980, a third of Americans received some kind of government help. Almost half did as of August of 2010. The Wall Street Journal bring this up in the context of the tax debates; tax cuts mean nothing when 56% of our budget is
used to fund entitlements. Comparably, the Bush tax cuts account for only 25% percent of the deficit this year.
