That's the claim of this study out of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University — who would undoubtedly have a lot to gain by claiming their area is squeaky-clean. Their results are interesting, though: there was a "48.8 percent decrease in the odds that a firm headquartered in a 'religious' county will be sued for wrongful accounting than in less religious ones."
