GOP Senate Primary: Rand Paul Still Rising

There are two weeks left before the Kentucky Senate primary, and Rand Paul is lokkin' good. In addition to leading competitor Trey Grayson in the polls, Paul just snagged

one of Greyon's key endorsements. U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers, R-5th District, the dean of Kentucky’s congressional delegation, and an influential Kentucky politician.

Interestingly, Sen. Jim DeMint hasn't endorsed anyone in this race. DeMint heads the Senate Conservatives Fund — the PAC that has been the vehicle for DeMint to back ideologically conservative candidates over Republican ones in primary races. Given Pauls' political inclinations, this would be just the race for DeMint to take a stand. But Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has backed Grayson for some time, and Paul's chances were more uncertain when the primary race began. That may be more of a stand than DeMint is willing to take. As he told the Washington Post:
I want to avoid poking my finger in the leader's eye, but I'm not going to let it get unfair.
