Steele's Minion Gets The Boot

Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fell on his sword yesterday to save face for Chairman Michael Steele. From Politico:
Doug Heye, communications director for the RNC, declined to say if McKay was forced out but indicated the move was directly related to the money spent at the now-infamous Voyeur Club and broader concerns about the party’s fundraising and the performance of Steele.

Deputy chief of staff Mike Leavitt was promoted to McKay's spot, in a move that was supported by a dwindling number of Steele backers. What's next for Leavitt and Steele? Reassuring the world that the RNC isn't in shambles. To that, I say: good luck, gentlemen. Karl Rove and Former Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie have already formed their powerful RNC alternative — American Crossroads — and a top major RNC donor has abandoned the organization.
