Legalizing Marijuana Passes in 2 out of 3 States

2 out of 3 states voting on legalizing marijuana on this Election Day have passed the measure. Both Colorado and Washington have decided by large margin to legalize selling and using marijuana, while Oregon voted it down by a lot.

These measures still run opposite of federal law. According to federal laws, it is illegal to distribute or hold marijuana. Therefore, federal agents can still shut down medical marijuana shops in these states that have passed these measures.
