God help me, but I'm with Joy Behar and Whoopi on this one. Obama was born in this country. He's released a valid certificate of live birth attesting to that fact -- not to mention the contemporary, third party evidence Obama's opponents unearthed in 2008 while attempting to confirm their conspiracy theory. And Trump's baseless statement that nobody remembers Obama from his childhood is demonstrably false. Say what you will about Trump: The man is addicted to attention, and he's a master at satiating that appetite, even if it takes ignorant buffoonery to accomplish.
In case you're curious, Trump is somehow polling at ten percent among GOP presidential primary voters, just two points behind...Sarah Palin:

Ten percent of Republicans and independents who lean Republican say they would most likely support Trump for the GOP's 2012 presidential nomination.
That would place him fifth on the list behind former Arkansas Gov. and 2008 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee at 19 percent, former Massachusetts Gov. and 2008 White House hopeful Mitt Romney at 18 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 14 percent, and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin at 12 percent.
