Christie is en fuego on this issue.  In today's episode, he tutors a town hall meeting critic on the important distinction between attacking teachers and criticizing teachers' unions:

It may occasionally seem as though Christie is a one-trick pony, but the organization he's combating has exerted a vice-like grip on New Jersey's politics for decades.  Cutting the NJEA down to size is a daunting task, and focusing the public's attention on the fight, while persuading people that you're in the right, is a task that requires this sort of relentless attention.

UPDATE: Even though Christie repeatedly (and bluntly) insists he will not run for president in 2012, McClatchy included his name in their latest GOP primary poll anyway.   He finished in the top five, nearly pulling even with Newt Gingrich.
