BREAKING: Republican Wins NY-25 House Race

Democratic Rep. Dan Maffei has conceded the closely contested election in New York's 25th Congressional District to conservative Republican challenger Ann Marie Buerkle.

Republicans have now gained six House seats in New York alone (with NY-01 still pending), and coupled with Solomon Ortiz's concession in TX-27 yesterday, the GOP's nationwide harvest currently stands at 63 seats.

Of the three races that remain unresolved, Democrats lead in all three.

UPDATE: It now appears NY-01 will narrowly remain in Democratic hands:

Things don't look good for Republicans in Long Island's 1st Congressional District, where election officials finished counting absentee ballots less than an hour ago. A source cose to the campaign of Republican candidate Randy Altschuler tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that with all absentee ballots counted, Democratic congressman Tim Bishop is in the lead by 234 votes.

There is a pile of about 1,900 challenged absentee ballots that have not been counted, but it seems unlikely that Altschuler can make up his 234-vote deficit here.
