New California Senate & Governor Polls Show GOP Leads

Meg Whitman's deputy campaign manager Richard Costigan just tweeted the results of a brand new KABC/Survey USA poll showing the Republican leading former Gov Jerry Brown (D),

47-40.  The link he provides bounces to what appears to be a rush transcript of a KABC newscast, the text of which pegs Whitman's lead at just 42-40.  This is likely a typo; my guess is that Costigan tweeted the correct results (the numbers in the transcript only add up to 95 percent, with 5 percent missing.  You do the math).

The same survey also shows Carly Fiorina surging back into the lead over Sen. Barbara Boxer, by a 48-46 percent margin.  For what it's worth, this new poll almost certainly does not reflect any changes in voters' attitudes based on last night's contentious debate, which I've described as a Fiorina win.
