Michele Bachmann Scheduled to Release Memoir in November

GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann is slated to release her memoir this upcoming fall. The untitled book, according to the publisher, has already been written and will be released by Sentinel, a conservative imprint of the Penguin Group. Roll Call Reports:

The memoir will “share previously untold stories” about her private life, according to Sentinel.

“This book will help to share my enthusiasm for an energized, pro-growth economy, and the life experiences that inform my optimism for the American people and for American greatness,” Bachmann said in a statement from Sentinel.

Several of Bachmann’s opponents for the GOP presidential nomination — including Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.), former Georgia Gov. Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul (R) — are already published authors. Georgia businessman and GOP presidential contender Herman Cain will release a memoir in October with Threshold Editions, a conservative imprint of Simon & Schuster.

President Barack Obama wrote two memoirs before winning the 2008 presidential election.

Bachmann spokesman Doug Sachtleben told the AP that releasing the book would not interfere with her presidential campaign.

“Throughout Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida, the Congresswoman has kept a full schedule of meeting and talking with thousands of people, and she will continue with that full campaign schedule all through the days up to and beyond the release of her memoir,” he said.
