Symone Sanders Got a Wake-up Call After Accusing Trump Admin of Letting Small Business Program Run Dry

Symone Sanders, senior adviser to Joe Biden's presidential campaign, decided to blame President Trump for letting the Payment Protection Program run dry. The program, which is a provision under the CARES Act, provides relief for small businesses who took financial hits because of the coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent shuttering of our economy.

That was a nice narrative. But anyone who's been following the debate over the PPP knows that it was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, not Trump, who are the biggest obstacle to additional funding.

It's true. While businesses fight to stay open and pay their employees, Pelosi has been chatting with late night host James Corden while standing in front of her $24,000 luxury fridge stocked with pints of expensive ice cream, as the Trump campaign noted, before labeling her the "Ice Queen."

The campaign also presented Sanders with CNN's own reporting.

Of course, once CNN realized they had printed the truth, they changed the headline to make it seem like Republicans were the culprits. “Senate at stalemate over more COVID-19 aid after Republicans and Democrats block competing proposals," the updated version read.

Guy wrapped it up nicely.
