Dem Senator Suggests Sending a Trump Cabinet Member 'Back'

If Democrats are so appalled by President Trump's "go back" to where you came from tweet, then they may not want to claim the phrase as their own. Yet that's the road Rep. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) took during her speech at the NAACP convention this weekend in Detroit. Instead of the four progressive Democrats Trump has targeted, Stabenow suggested they send Education Secretary Betsy DeVos "back" instead. That's because, according to Stabenow, DeVos is to blame for the poor state of some Michigan schools.

"Too many of our children languish in inadequate, ill equipped schools," Stabenow said in her remarks. "Thank you Betsy DeVos. I really wish she was not from Michigan. I think we should send her back."

The crowd liked that one.

DeVos is a frequent target of Democrats, especially in light of her decision to update President Obama's Title IX regulations to give more due process to the accused party in campus sexual assault allegations.

One of the Squad members and Stabenow's fellow Michiganite, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, also spoke at this weekend's conference. She told Trump that she doesn't plan on going anywhere. Well, not until she "impeaches this president.”

Trump does not seem to be taking her threat seriously.
