Dem Strategist: My 'Blood Curdled' When I Heard AOC's Holocaust Comments

Democratic strategist and frequent Fox News contributor Doug Schoen is a proud Jewish American, he reminded viewers on Friday. After sharing that piece of personal information, he joined anchor Bill Hemmer in railing off on a certain freshman lawmaker's Holocaust remarks.

"The United States is running concentration camps on the southern border," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claimed during an Instagram Live video.

At first listen, you'd be forgiven for thinking she stuttered or simply made a mistake, but she soon cleared all doubt.

"And that is exactly what they are," Ocasio-Cortez continued. "They are concentration camps. And if that doesn't bother you, I don't, I got nothing. Like we can have - I wanna talk to the people who are concerned enough with humanity and that 'never again' means something. And that the fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing. And we need to do something about it."

There's plenty to be outraged by, but Hemmer took particular issue with her use of the phrase "never again," which is a sacred saying among the Jewish community.

"Does she not owe every Jew on the planet an apology?" Hemmer demanded on air this week.

As for Schoen, when he heard her use the term "institutionalized practice," his "blood curdled." That's because no one in their right mind would compare border detention centers to the Nazi massacre of 6 million Jews.

"When she analogized institutions used for mass slaughter to legitimate institutions of government, that’s a moral and political obscenity," Schoen said.

Schoen took a moment to address the Democratic Party in general, which he says he no longer recognizes.

Most of the 2020 Democrats - save Joe Biden - just "don’t accept" the party's principle tenets, he regretted.
