On Kimmel, Kardashian Recalls Her Meeting With President Trump

This year, Kim Kardashian West helped get someone a second chance in life. She made a plea to President Trump for Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence for a nonviolent first time drug offense. Johnson had already served 22 years behind bars. Trump was moved by Kardashian's emotional appeal and invited her to the White House. Shortly after their meeting, he announced that he would be commuting Johnson's sentence. The newly freed grandmother was elated to have a second chance and Kardashian thanked the president on Twitter for his compassion.

Kardashian of course received some hateful messages for so boldly supporting the president, but she told Jimmy Kimmel Monday night that she has no plans to start bashing the president.

"I knew there was only one person in power that could get this change," Kardashian explained.

Hilariously, Kardashian shared that she was shooting a nude photo shoot when Trump called her with the good news. She then called Johnson to tell her she was going to be a free woman.

During the interview, instead of completely sharing Kardashian's joy, Kimmel cued up opportunities for Kardashian to criticize or mock the president on several occasions. She politely declined each time.

"You know what, I'm very grateful and I'm very hopeful that more good things are going to come out of our conversation," she said.

Kardashian told Kimmel she has a list of people she's working on to ask Trump to release from prison, to which Kimmel asked if Melania was on it. Kardashian, again dismissing the dig at the president, just smiled and said, "I love Melania."

Kardashian's husband, Kanye West, is now a well known Trump supporter, having posted photos of himself wearing a Make America Great Again hat. Asked about her husband's very vocal support of Trump on Twitter, Kardashian explained that he doesn't exactly agree with the president's policies, but he respects his bold personality and how he broke the mold in politics and proved all the doubters wrong.

"I have nothing bad to say about the president because he's done something amazing," Kardashian said.

Best part of the interview? When Kardashian revealed that the first thing she said to President Trump when she met him was, "Holy s***. We're in the f***ing Oval Office."
