The Senate Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), is re-referring Planned Parenthood to the FBI and DOJ for criminal investigation. Grassley first made the request in December 2016 after several disturbing reports captured Planned Parenthood employees discussing and bragging about the sale of aborted baby parts.
“I don’t take lightly making a criminal referral,” Grassley said at the time. “But, the seeming disregard for the law by these entities has been fueled by decades of utter failure by the Justice Department to enforce it,” Grassley said. “And, unless there is a renewed commitment by everyone involved against commercializing the trade in aborted fetal body parts for profit, then the problem is likely to continue.”
After reviewing more than 20,000 pages of documents related to Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue transfers, the Judiciary Committee concluded that the organization was turning a blind eye to any affiliates that were engaging in unlawful activity. Moreover, the committee discovered that the DOJ had not enforced the law that bans the buying and selling of tissue. As such, they are re-referring Planned Parenthood for criminal investigation.

Grassley notes that his initial referral was made during a presidential transition year, which may account for the lack of progress. He has asked the new agencies to provide written confirmation by May 8.
Some Planned Parenthood employees have no remorse for their callous treatment of unborn babies. The executive who once bragged about wanting to sell fetal tissue so she can buy a Lamborghini was again caught haggling over prices last week.
