On 15th Anniversary of 9/11, A Presidential Candidate Says She Wouldn't Have Given Order to Kill Bin Laden

Sunday marked 15 years since the day terrorists killed almost 3,000 innocent Americans. Osama bin Laden, the Al Qaeda leader behind the unthinkable attacks was brought to justice in 2011 when a group of U.S. special forces raided his hiding place and shot him on the spot. Millions of Americans celebrated the news that night and some pundits have called it one the great successes of Obama's presidency. Yet, if Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein were in his shoes and was given the option to greenlight the mission, she would have said, "pass."

In Iowa on Sunday, Stein told the Des Moines Register that assassinations like the one carried out on the bin Laden compound are against international protocol.

“I think assassinations … they’re against international law to start with and to that effect, I think I would not have assassinated Osama bin Laden but would have captured him and brought him to trial,” Stein said.

Stein had no problem, however condemning the "wrong wars" we entered as a result of the tragedy.

Please bear in mind Stein made these statements on the 15th anniversary of September 11 - and she's running for president of the United States.

Between this interview and Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson's cringe worthy Aleppo flub last week, the alternatives to Trump and Clinton may have just done themselves irreparable damage.
