Fox Business Network to Host Libertarian Town Hall

The Fox Business Network will host a libertarian town hall later this month to offer Gary Johnson some primetime visibility. John Stossel will moderate the event as Johnson and his vice presidential running mate William Weld take questions from a studio audience, according to a new FBN press release.

Throughout the town hall, Stossel will focus on the major differences between the Libertarian, Republican and Democratic platforms, as well as on economic, social and defense issues. The event will take place in front of a studio audience comprised of a cross-section of voters, who will join Stossel in posing questions to the candidates. In addition, Stossel will incorporate topics proposed through social media and from FBN reporters based in Times Square and Union Square in Manhattan interviewing passers-by.

With the unpopularity of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, many voters have welcomed a third choice in Johnson/Weld. The ticket continues to gain double digit percentages in recent polling. Johnson is still shy of the 15 percent threshold needed to join Trump and Clinton on the presidential debate stage, but the Commission on Presidential Debates is taking preparatory steps to be ready for his potential presence at the podium. He has also earned the endorsement of one member of the Bush family.

"Stossel: Libertarian Town Hall" will air on the Fox Business Network Friday, August 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
